Writer's Block

A few of you have reached out to ask what happened to the blogs, which is nice - shows that at least a few people were reading and cared enough to miss them :-)

As to the rest of you, well, I never liked you anyway!

In all seriousness, I definitely lost my mojo for a while there, which I guess is not surprising given that we’re on a massive pause in our trip.

But the worst thing is, I was only half way through writing up my “Chagos Diaries” when I ran out of steam… and I definitely wanted to document that properly as it’s easily been the best part of our trip so far!

So…. I got off my backside over the last few days and finished writing them up, and even though they’re now 6 months out of date, I’m going to go ahead and publish them anyway over the next week or so. There’s some good stuff in there if you want to read them, and even if you don’t, I definitely want to have them there for posterity and my ailing memory, which after all is the primary reason for the blog in the first place!

After that, I’ll publish a general update of our current thinking of where to next, and I do have a bunch of ideas and more interesting tales to tell that I’ve been mentally writing over the last few months, so hopefully I can keep my momentum going this time.

In the meantime, hope all is good back in civilisation. Someone tells me there’s been a bit of a lurgy going around?
